The awful winters of 2010 and 2011 saw record Boston snowfalls, state government shutdowns and busted snow removal budgets for Boston area residents, businesses and the City of Boston maintenance division.
If it snows as hard in 2011 and 2012, the snow removal budget for local towns and state roads will be all used up by year end.
Last year, Logan Airport recieved over 70 inches of snow and had a snow remvoal budget of six million dollars. ($6 mil)
Kudos to Massport, the Logan Airport Managers responsible for obtaining from the Northeast Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (NE/AAAE) the Balchen/Post Award for Outstanding Achievement in Airport Snow and Ice Control.
