Boston collegeFest 2011 is over. Got some random thoughts to share.

Just in time for Boston Winter

The Aftermath

Music branding was a huge factor, I’ll bet!

Everybody goes to Boston Collegefest events for the freebies and to hook up and text message, then eat later.  Lol!

BlackBerry (RIM) sponsored this year’s Boston collegeFest

All in all, it was a good day. OccupyWallstreet planners were in town; weather was great. I ended up in Harvard Square eventually.

At Holyoke Center I stopped by my favorite pizza place…that rootsy joint on the right you’ll come across walking down the corridor.

Before I went there, I tried out the Clover Food Labs marquee restaurant for about the third time. Wanted to try something different and I did. At Clover, I picked on the $3 menu: the mushroom salad was a bit lame, the Apple Fritters were excellent, the Tofu BLT was lousy, the berry tea was awesome.
Clover experiments too much….  LOved that Pizza at Holyoke.

Boston snow removal officials at Logan International Airport must be breathing a sigh of relief that they don’t have to snow plow London’s Heathrow airport because its larger. Logan has years of experience removing snow and know what they want in the snow removal contract bidders have lined up to compete on.

Braintree, MA from Barnes and Nobles) If all it did is get this hot in August, I would be forever gratefulto the weather God. I recon you all will find shady relief as you need it. Now,don’t go round pasting sunblock indiscriminately on your children. Best to let them grow in the sun with natural skin uncovered to get that good sunny vitamin D, says experts on NPR radio.

Boston Snow Fall 2009 quips and quotes

Boston Snow Man sample logo

Snow removal budgets in Worcester, Boston and probably in  New England towns and cities have exceeded the estimates  town officials entered when annual budgets were being decided.

The Metro Newspaper reported that Boston has exceeded its $12.5 million dollar snow removal plan and contractor’s budget in 2009 already.

The NECN television network added on more woe.  Complimented by Boston Globe reports that the Boston Public Schools may eliminate jobs and positions due to imposed budget cuts and other expenses, all that snow and ice we have had in Boston this year has remarkably been cleared on time and on schedule by city officials and their contract snow removal plows.

..” weather’s unpredictability leaves Boston, and all other municipalities, little choice but to plow, salt and shovel its way out”   said one official in charge of managing things in the City of Boston, reported the Metro.

But, all is not so bad when it snows in Boston.

Organizations embrace urban youth who try out their snow boarding skills.  And  when televised weather forecasters explained  tomorrow’s snowfall expectations  it hasn’t been so bad.

This is “a typical Boston winter” said a neighbor on her way with a shovel to pick away ice down at the corner.  It was thick and hard that her plan for  using her tool didn’t work that day.

I’ll bet the person who visited BostonSnowman.com on a Google Search for keyword “ski discount coupons” found something.

Yep, it was probably a good deal but I don’t know where they spent the money.
